Governor Barasa Rolls Out Free Farm Inputs in Navakholo

H.E. Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa later led the distribution of free fertiliser and maize seeds in Navakholo Constituency, targeting widows, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable individuals.

The initiative is a key part of Governor Barasaโ€™s broader plan to promote inclusive agricultural support throughout Kakamega County. It aims to ensure that vulnerable farmers in every sub-county have access to essential farm inputs for improved productivity and livelihoods.

Speaking during the exercise, Governor Barasa reiterated his commitment to equitable development and announced plans to commence the upgrading of the Eshilakhweโ€“Chebuyusi Road to bitumen standards.

“No sub-county will be left behind in our ongoing distribution of free fertiliser and maize seed. We are deliberately focusing on vulnerable groups to empower communities and boost food security,” said Governor Barasa.

Present were Members of the County Assembly, led by the host, Hon. Benjamin Ochwaya Were, and County Executive Committee Members, led by the CECM for Agriculture, Mr. Mophat Mandela.
