H.E FCPA FERNANDES BARASA MET THE FOREST FENCING COMMITTEE

H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa met the Forest Fencing Committee at his office this evening for a brief on the ongoing fencing project of the Kakamega Forest ecosystem.

The initiative is bringing together various partners including the County Governments of Kakamega and Vihiga, KFS, KWS, NETFUND, MPESA Foundation, among other stakeholders.

The successful completion of Phase I covering 17 kilometers, initiated in February 2023 now paves way for the launch of Phase II which will cover 34 Kilometres for both Kakamega and Vihiga Counties.

Ksh. 90 million has been collectively raised for this project.
