H.E. THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR PROF. PHILIP KUTIMA TOURS KAKAMEGA COUNTY GENERAL HOSPITAL

The deputy governor, H.E. Prof. Philip Museve Kutima today made an extensive tour of Kakamega Referral Hospital in the company of CECM for Health Services Madam Rachel Okumu, CECM for Finance and Planning, Mr. Geoffrey Omulayi, the Chief Officer Medical Services, Dr. Beatrice Etemesi and the Chief Officer Service Delivery, Ambassador James Ochami.

Among the sections covered were general wards, Maternity, the ICU, orthopaedic and renal units, where he commended staff for maintaining high standards of higiene and cleanliness.

After the tour, the DG held a closed door meeting with senior staff including the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Victor Zimbulu and the hospital Administrator, Mr. Titus Mumia.

Prof. Kutima observed that his tour had revealed positive activities in the facility contrary to some negative reporting by a section of the media.
