HEALTH SERVICES KEY ON GOVERNOR BARASA’S MANIFESTO – COUNTY SECRETARY

Kakamega County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr. Bonface Okoth Wednesday chaired an administrative meeting with County Medical Superintendents and Hospital Administrators’ to chart the way forward in delivery of quality health services to the residents of Kakamega County.

The meeting held at KenAfya offices, Kakamega resolved as follows;

All pending bills be settled within the set framework;

✓ Process to complete stalled projects to commence immediately;

✓ Process to ensure renovation of structures, repair of motor vehicles as well as maintenance of hospital equipment be fast-tracked;

✓ Government to quickly address staff shortage and stagnation;

✓ Government to urgently ensure procurement of required new hospital equipment, other powered machines and consumables; and

✓ Government to effect Governor Fernandes Barasa’s directive of clearing arrears owed to CHVs and enhancement of their monthly stipend from KES 2,000 to KES 2,500 with effect from the next financial year.

These, Dr Okoth noted, will ensure the people of Kakamega County access quality health services promptly from the Community Level upto Level 5 while contributing to the general development of the County through own source revenue.

“Provision of reliable quality health services to residents is one of the six-point agenda of Governor Barasa to the people of Kakamega County,” the CS noted.
