KAKAMEGA DEVELOPING 2023-2027 CIDP

The County Government of Kakamega has stepped up the process of developing the County Integrated Development Plan 2023-27 in line with the Constitutional requirement that no Government resources should be appropriated outside a planning framework.

Chief Officer for Economic Planning Mr Dan Borter on Wednesday while addressing a Sector projects and development programmes workshop implored the Officers drawn from all the County sectors to actively participate in the process which he termed critical in improving the document.

“The draft we come up with at the end of this exercise will be subjected to scrutiny by various stakeholders including members of the public,” Mr. Borter said calling for utmost concentration by the Planners and other County Officers.

The five year plan will take into consideration the Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa’s manifesto, the National Government’s manifesto and Kenya’s Vision 2030 blueprint.

Director for Planning CPA Cyrus Ondari stated that the document is expected to be submitted at the Council of Governors (CoG) by 9th December 2022 for official launch by the Council where H.E. Governor Barasa is the Chairperson of the Finance committee, after a thorough scrutiny by key stakeholders among them the County Assembly, County Executives and National Government’s State Department for Planning.
