KAKAMEGA FIRST LADY FETED FOR HER ROLE IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Kakamega First Lady H.E Priscillah Ambetsa Oparanya has been recognized by the Universal Peace Federation, a leading international Non-Governmental Organization, for her efforts in supporting the opportunities of mothers, young people and children in Kakamega County.

Mama Priscillah has been at the forefront in championing for the social rights of young boys and girls, efforts that have seen her rally partners to raise funds with the aim of donating sanitary towels, soaps and underpants to school going children.

“The Universal Peace Federation and International Federation for World Peace are proud to hereby recognize you as an Ambassador for peace,” read the award signed by Rev. Dr Sun Myung Moon the Founder member and Dr Hak Ja Han Moon, Co-Founder.

“I am so much humbled by this recognition. I thank UPF for the award and commit to continue supporting the vulnerable people in the society to access basic human rights,” she affirmed.

The organization also donated sanitizers and masks to the First Lady for distribution among the less fortunate members across Kakamega County.

The First Lady has also been a champion of maternal health in Kakamega County an initiative that has seen her join hands with Kenya’s First Lady Mama Margaret Kenyatta to advocate and raise funds for improving maternal and child healthcare in Kenya.
