KAKAMEGA IS DESTINED FOR PROSPERITY – PROF KUTIMA

Residents of Kakamega can today walk heads high in Kenya and elsewhere proudly identifying with their county due to the numerous projects and programs that have changed their livelihoods courtesy of the great leadership of the Governor, H.E. Hon. Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya.

Speaking on Tuesday morning while condoling the family, relatives and friends of the late John Luseso Shiramba, a renown banker and businessman, in Bushiangala, Ikolomani Sub-County, Kakamega Deputy Governor H.E. Hon. Prof. Philip Museve Kutima said the achievements realized in the county puts the natives at the front seat with opportunities to address gatherings on the ‘magics’ of devolution in their home county.

The DG enumerated some of the projects commissioned and initiated by the County government in Ikolomani Sub-County which include; Shitoli water project serving the larger Sub-County, the active Shibuname water project in Idakho Central Ward and Butweye water project in Idakho South Ward at 40 percent done. He continued to mention the Bushiangala-Lusiola bitumen road that stands at 65 percent completion rate, among other all-weather roads under the 10km per ward program; Musingu High School mega dormitory, Burendwa Secondary school centre of excellence, ECDE centres and Polytechnics, among several milestones realized in the other sectors of Health Services; Agriculture; Public Service and County Administration; Trade, Industrialization and Tourism; Lands, Housing, Urban Areas and Physical Planning, Finance, Economic Planning and ICT and Social Services, Youths, Women Empowerment, Sports and Culture.

On administration and governance, Professor Kutima called on both National and County Governments Administrators to always collaborate and administer justice, humility and the willingness to serve the people with passion. He said despite Kenya having two levels of Government, citizens expect quality and timely services from their leaders.

The Deputy Governor assured residents continuity of prudent leadership and reiterated his preparedness to take over the County Management from his Boss in the forthcoming general elections. He was accompanied by MCA Idakho North Ward Hon. Gladys Mukongolo, Nominated MCA Hon. Ann Mulwale, Ikolomani Sub-County Administrator Mr. Patrick Mwairumba, Administrator Mr. Luke Otipo, Ward Administrator Mr. Joseph Okoth, area Chief Mr. Donald Khabuchi and seven Community Area Administrators.
