KAKAMEGA PUTS BEST FOOT FORWARD AT AFRICITIES SUMMIT

The County Government of Kakamega registered her presence at the 9th edition of Africities Conference at the Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu City County, officially opened by President Uhuru Kenyatta, with an appeal to local and international investors to establish their operations in Kakamega County.

The County Government booth showcased the County’s potential and vast opportunities in housing and industrialization in Kakamega and Mumias Municipalities and other urban centres, in line with this year’s Summit theme; “the Role of Intermediary Cities in Africa in the Implementation of Agenda 2030 of the United Nations and the African Union Agenda 2063”. The County Government has already put in place proper procedures and mechanisms to ensure Kakamega Municipality is elevated to city status. Agriculture, sports and health sectors are also being showcased at the Kakamega County’s booth.

Kakamega Governor H.E Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya will on Tuesday moderate a session on the Devolution Journey – the African Comparative Perspective, at the Summit.
