KAKAMEGA RURAL WATER PROVIDER WELCOMES A NEW CEO

Kakamega County Rural Water and Sanitation Company (KACRWASCO) on Monday received a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in an event that was presided over by the Board Chairperson Mr Peter Ingosi. In the new changes, Mr Fred Atwa takes over in acting capacity from Madam Maureen Aura.

The Board through their Chairperson thanked H.E the Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa for supporting the company’s agenda through his Hygiene and Sanitation pillar that targets connection of residents to the essential resource dubbed water at the doorstep.

They further appreciated the Governor for pledging to allocate funds to the company aimed at making it functional and assured that all non operational schemes will be actualised to enhance service delivery in the sector to the people of Kakamega County.

To fastrack implementation of their functions, the team highlighted revival of all non-operational water supplies in the company’s jurisdiction, acquiring a license from the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) and conducting a baseline survey to determine both the active and non-active consumers among others, as their key tasks requiring urgent attention.

Chief Officers Dr. June Mwajuma and Ms Jessica Wesonga for Finance and Water respectively witnessed the hand over and assured the company of the County Government’s support. The two are also members of the Board.

In attendance also were other KACRWASCO Board members Prof. Francis Orata and Ms Vivian Litali.
