H.E FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa has assured Kakamega County residents that they are set to reap substantial benefits following President William Ruto’s recent visit to the County.
Speaking at Malava Primary School, Malava Sub-County during a Public Consultation Forum, Governor Barasa highlighted key developments initiated during the President’s visit such as the Affordable Housing project which is aimed at addressing housing challenges and providing employment opportunities for the residents.
FCPA Barasa reminded residents that the County will also benefit hugely upon completion of Malava Milk Plant situated at Tumbeni, scheduled for commissioning in. December 2023.
He also disclosed that his administration has engaged the National Government where the latter will provide 25 coolers to the facility upon completion.
The plant is expected to boost the dairy industry within the region and provide a ready market for farmers products.
The County boss further stated that the County Government has stepped up the process of elevating Malava Town to a Municipality noting that the upgrade will steer development in the area.
