MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE : DEMISE OF HON. PETER SOITA SHITANDA
It is with profound shock that I have learned of the death of Hon. Peter Soita Shitanda, Chairperson of Agricultural Development Corporation, who passed on today afternoon while receiving medical attention at Nairobi Hospital. On behalf of The County Government Of Kakamega, residents, my family and myself, I take this earliest opportunity to send our sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and residents of Malava Sub-County for the loss of Hon. Peter Soita Shitanda.
I knew Soita as a humble, devoted and hard working gentleman. This was clear to many Kenyans in 2005 when the late comrade was elevated to Cabinet by The Former President H.E Hon. Mwai Kibaki. As a colleague in The Coalition Government, we worked very closely and tirelessly to deliver Vision 2030. He shared with me his leadership experience as a Cabinet Minister and contributed to the commendable performance of my Ministry.
We all remember Soita’s tireless effort in expanding the Sugar Industry and ensuring the Farmer benefited from sugar farming. In these, he fought successfully to bring to realization the now vibrant Butali Sugar Company.
As a County, we have lost a dedicated, experienced and rational leader whom we will miss his services. during this grieving moment. I urge the residents of Kakamega to remain calm and offer support to the bereaved family.
May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.
