ONE COW PROGRAM – PHASE II
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya today gave grade cows to women farmers in Malava, Ikolomani, Mumias West and Mumias East Sub Counties.
Governor Oparanya accompanied by Agriculture and Livestock CECM Mr. Kulati Wangia gave out the 180 cows, 10 per ward, in accordance with the government’s plans to increase the milk production in the County in preparation for the upcoming dairy firm to be constructed in Malava Sub County. He said the County Government will provide extension services to farmers free of charge. Likuyani and Matungu are the two Sub Counties yet to receive the cows in the second phase.
Tomorrow (1st June, 2017) Governor Oparanya will lead residents of Kakamega in celebrating Madaraka Day at Bomani grounds, Mumias West sub county. The national holidays celebrations in the county are held on a rotational basis in all the 12 sub counties across the County.
