PLANNERS TO WORK CLOSELY WITH DELIVERY UNIT ON PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION ~ GOVERNOR DIRECTS

H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has said the Service Delivery Unit in his office will be fully involved in tracking budgeting and implementation of projects. The delivery unit will also monitor projects and highlight emerging issues for further scrutiny at a higher forum on 18th of every month as the county puts major planning frameworks such as County Integrated Development PlanĀ (CIDP), Vision 2030, MTP III and County Manifesto in focus to jump start economic growth.

Governor Oparanya who was addressing County senior staff during the opening of a two day workshop today on finalization of the 2019/2020 Annual Development Plan and County Service Delivery Improvement in Kisumu said no new projects should be initiated before the ongoing ones are completed with the only exceptions being projects of a strategic nature or the ones arising from emerging issues such as universal health coverage and the Big 4 Agenda. He decried inordinate delays in disbursement of funds from the national Treasury which he blamed on accumulation of pending bills and delays in project implementation.

The workshop sponsored by USAID and AHADI is being attended by among others H.E. the Deputy Governor, H.E. Prof. Philip Museve Kutima, Chairperson of County Public Service Board, Madam Rodah Masaviru, CEC Members, the County Secretary, Madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo and Chief Officers.
