We appreciate the residents of Kakamega County, especially those living in Mumias West and Matungu Sub-Counties for their cooperation with police in ensuring all the 7 firearms that had been stolen from Booker Police Post are recovered.

While the police continue with their investigations , I urge them to maintain professionalism and ensure protection of all the whistle blowers who may have assisted in the apprehending of some of the suspects.

Stern action should be taken against any person found to have participated in the robbery and subsequent acts of violence and brutality to innocent residents were subjected to during the search for the stolen firearms.

We urge the Indpendent Policing Oversight Authority to expeditiously conclude their investigation and recommend appropriate sunctions for those who brutalised members of the public and corresponding compensation to the injured victims and families of those who lost their lives.
