PRIDEINN HOTEL DELEGATION IMPRESSED WITH KAKAMEGA DEVELOPMENT RECORD

A delegation from PrideInn Group of Hotels Friday morning paid a courtesy call to the Kakamega County Deputy Governor H.E Prof. Phillip Museve Kutima at the County Headquarters to discuss possible ways of partnering with the County towards growth and development of the hospitality industry in the Western region.

The Deputy Governor who pledged support to the visitors objective on behalf of the Governor H.E Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya said Kakamega is a populous and a fast developing County with alot of potential for growth in the hospitality industry in Kenya. He alluded at the favourable climatic conditions, a rich culture, hospitable residents and the existing tourism attractions as some of the reasons the investor should think of establishing hospitality trade operations within Kakamega.

“The development milestones we have achieved since inception of devolution are already inviting investors; your operations here will be key in helping us cater for the increasing number of both local and international tourists and also provide employment opportunities for our people,” he said.

The DG said Kakamega’s improved road infrastructure as well as the towering upcoming Level 6 health facility, the Kakamega County Referral and Teaching Hospital, the Bukhungu stadium among other flagship projects, will open up the County for more investment opportunities across all the sectors.

Flamingo PrideInn General Manager Mr. Victor Shitakha thanked the DG for the hospitality and appreciated the County Government for the plausible development agenda for her people. He said his hotel is preparing for its aggressive growth plan that will ensure expansion of its services into the Western region.

“After visiting most counties in the country, we can confidently say that everyone wants to join the winning team and Kakamega stands out as a potential investment partner,” he said.

Mr. Shitakha a seasoned hotelier with more than 20 years of management in the hospitality industry is also the Kenya Coast Tourism Association Chairman.

The PrideInn chain of hotels consists of 8 hotels in Nairobi and Mombasa counties among them the luxurious PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Spa, PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort (Mombasa) and the PrideInn Westlands, Nairobi.

The delegation which is on a tour of the Nyanza and Western regions is set to meet Kakamega Governor on Monday next week.
