PROF KASSILY GRACES WESTERN WOMEN EVENT

Her Excellency Prof. Janet Kassily Barasa, Kakamega County First Lady, on Saturday 18th February 2023 joined various leaders among them Chief Cabinet Secretary Hon. Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi and Hon. Martha Karua for a meeting with Western Kenya Women under the umbrella Western Women Congress at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

To ensure Western region women are economically, socially and politically empowered, the First Lady said leaders and other key stakeholders must address the numerous challenges such as teen pregnancy, gender based violence, lack of business capital and unfair political playground.

The theme of the meeting, “Unleashing the Potential in Women” is in line with H.E FCPA Governor Fernandes Barasa’s Social Development and Wealth creation agenda for Kakamega County.
