REVENUE COLLECTION STAFF PUT ON NOTICE

H.E. the Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya today directed the County Revenue Collection Unit to take immediate action to stem revenue leaks and address resistance to use of ICT systems by some of the staff suspected to be involved in theft of public funds.

The Governor instructed the Head of the unit, in collaboration with other stakeholders and departments, to present a way forward in 3 weeks time for deliberation and adoption. The Governor was making a presentation at a forum of senior government officers.

He outlined key areas and projects that will receive substantial funding in the next financial year including Kakamega Teaching and Referral Hospital, Bukhungu Stadium, ECDE Centres and county polytechnics, sub county level 4 hospital projects in Shamakhubu, Shinyalu, and Mumias, as well as water supply and housing projects across the county.

Deputy Governor H.E Prof. Philip Kutima, County Public Service Board chairperson Mrs Rodah Masaviru, County Secretary, Mrs Jacinta Odhiambo among others are participants at the forum.
