SENATORS CRITICISED FOR SHOOTING DOWN PROPOSED ALLOCATION TO COUNTIES
H.E Governor Fernandes Barasa has criticised Kenya Kwanza affiliated Senators for shooting down the proposed KSH 425 Billion equitable shareable allocation to Counties.
Speaking at Matungu Sub-County Hospital on Friday in his capacity as the Chairperson of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee at the Council of Governors, Governor Barasa said the action amounts to denying devolved units their rightful share contrary to what is expected of the Senators – safeguarding devolution.
The Governor explained that due to the tough economic times currently, Ksh 407 Billion would have been the irreducible minimum terming the decision by the Legislators a huge disservice to Kenyans.
