TACKLE AUDIT QUERIES WITH URGENCY – OMULAYI

CECM for Finance and Planning Mr. Geoffrey Omulayi today urged senior county officials to treat audit issues with urgency.

“CECMs kindly allow the chief officers to brainstorm in order to respond to audit queries effectively,” he said.

Mr. Omulayi said responses to audit queries should be finalized by the time the governor comes back because he needs to go through them before engaging eternal auditors.

Mr. Omulayi made the remarks during the weekly revenue collection updates at the Golf Hotel.

Various sub-counties reported that the heavy rains and corruption among the revenue clerks had slowed down revenue collection.

Addressing the issue on corruption, CECM for Public Service and Administration Dr. Beatrice Sabana said that documented evidence against the corrupt officers should be presented to the relevant disciplinary committee.

Meanwhile, the County Secretary Madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo announced that one of the County’s partners was interested in supporting child-headed families.

“Sub-county administrators should work with Community Area Administrators to conduct a head count of household heads then narrow down to child-headed families so as to find a way of supporting them during this festive season”, she said.

Also present were CECMs, meeting facilitator Amb. James Ochami (Chief Officer Service Delivery), Deputy County Secretary, Mr. Joshua Kutekha, Chief Officers, County Attorney Mr. Moses Sande, Sub-county Administrators among other senior county officials.
