COUNTY GOVERNMENT TO CONSTRUCT IKONYERO-SICHIRAYI ROAD

The County Government of Kakamega will tarmac Ikonyero-Mungulu-Evambwa-Sichirayi road to redirect cane trailers plying Mumias-Kakamega road towards Kakamega -Webuye road. Additionally, the County will also allocate funds to tarmack Sasala-Mwiyala-Lurambi Primary road to improve transport network and connectivity in Lurambi Sub-County.

This was announced by Kakamega County Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa on Sunday during a church service at Emakusi PEFA Church, Butsotso East Ward in Lurambi Sub-County. Once constructed, the Governor stated, the roads will not only open up the area but also rid Kakamega town of cane trailers which have perennially destroyed roads in the Municipality due to their heavy tonnage.

Governor Barasa also instructed the Kakamega County Microfinance Agency Chief Executive Officer to expeditiously advance the Agency’s loans to small and medium enterprise traders as he reminded women and the youth to apply for the low interest loans to boost their businesses.

During the event, County Executives were directed by the Governor to heighten representation of issues affecting residents at the grassroots.
