Governor Barasa Commissions New General Ward Facility at Khalaba Health Centre.
The County Government continues to strengthen healthcare services across Kakamega by expanding hospital capacity, improving facilities, and ensuring residents have access to quality medical care close to home.
This afternoon, H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, commissioned a new 30-bed general ward at Khalaba Health Centre in Khalaba Ward, Matungu Sub-County. The facility will increase the hospitalโs capacity and enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to local residents.
The new ward is part of Governor Barasaโs ongoing efforts to improve health infrastructure and provide citizens with modern, well-equipped medical facilities.
In his address, Governor Barasa said that improving healthcare services is central to his health agenda and directly benefits the wellbeing of residents.
The project complements other county-wide health investments, including the completion of Kakamega Level 6 Referral Hospital in partnership with the National Government. Governor Barasa pledged to continue investing in health to make quality services accessible to all citizens across Kakamega County.
He was accompanied by MCAs, led by Majority Leader Hon. Phillip Maina, and County Executives.
