COUNTY STAFF CHALLENGED TO SHUN PROCRASTINATION

The top management of the Kakamega County Government have been asked to improve on best practices in public service.

In a monthly Government Projects Status Review Meeting held today at the county headquarters, the Deputy Governor H.E Hon. Prof Philip Museve Kutima, while chairing the session on behalf of the Governor H.E. Hon. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, reminded the officers to always take cognisance of the Governor’s executive directives and procedurally implement them so as to exercise prudence and avoid unforeseen lapses in service delivery.

The meetings ensure expounded sectoral presentations on public participation forums, revenue collection, markets sanitation, Government flagship projects including roads infrustructure, supply of clean piped and safe water, electrification for households, affordable quality health services, issuance of county burseries, farmers registration exercise and issuance of subsidized farm inputs, Government connectivity, Monitoring and Evaluation of Government projects, recorded incidences in Sub-Counties with solutions or recommendations and status on Human Resources.

The Deputy Governor urged the staff to prioritise and execute government projects and activities within stipulated timeframes and avoid postponing planned tasks in order to realize H.E. the Governor’s ten year vision for the great County of Kakamega.

Among the officers present were the Chairperson County Public Service Board, Madam Catherine Omweno, CECMs, CS&HoPS Madam Jacinta Aluoch Odhiambo, DCS Mr Joshua Kutekha, Chief Officers, CoS Mr Robert Sumbi, DCoS Herbert Sore, Heads of Departments, Agencies’ CEOs, Managers of Kakamega and Mumias Municipalities, Sub-County Administrators and Accountants.
