CS APPROVES KAKAMEGA COUNTY’S DEVELOPMENT RECORD

Devolution & ASAL Cabinet Secretary Hon. Eugene Wamalwa has said Kakamega County was among the best performing counties in the country. The CS who was speaking to faithfuls at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Mumias West sub county, Kakamega County pointed out the iconic Bukhungu Stadium among other flagship projects as well as the 5th Devolution Conference that was hosted in Kakamega earlier in the year, as a demonstration of focused leadership in the county. He urged Luhya leaders leaders to embrace unity of purpose and shun unnecessary differences to fasttrack development in the region. H.E. Governor Oparanya assured residents that leaders from the region will comprehensively address the sugar industry woes when they visit President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi next week. He urged residents to attend national Mashujaa Day celebrations to be hosted in Kakamega on 20th October, in large numbers. The leaders also talked about infrastructure development in the County that has kept Kakamega’s star shining.
