GOVERNMENTS COLLABORATION THE WAY TO GO – COG FINANCE CHAIR

Governors will work with the National Government to foster development in their respective counties across the country.

Addressing congregants at St. Patrick’s Lufumbo Catholic church in Butere Sub-County during a thanks giving mass, Kakamega County Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa who is also the Chairperson of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee at the Council of Governors reiterated that through collaboration with the Central Government, devolved units will achieve immense social and economic growth for the benefit of Kenyans.

While appreciating the President H.E. Hon. Dr. William Samoei Ruto for his recent inaugural official visit to Kakamega County, the County boss said through mutual cooperation between the two levels of government, he looks forward to successful completion and operationalization of the Level 6 County Teaching and Referral Hospital, Bukhungu International Stadium and upgrade of the recently commissioned Kakamega Airstrip to a fully fledged Airport.

These, FCPA Barasa stated, will spur development in Kakamega County and improve the lives of residents by ensuring good health, wealth creation and social development.

The Governor was accompanied by Members of County Assembly led by the Speaker Rt. Hon. James Namatsi, Leader of Majority Hon. Philip Maina and the CEC Member for Public Service and County Administration Mr. Lawrence Omuhaka together with Chief Officer Health Services Dr. David Alila, among other leaders.
