GOVERNOR BARASA ENGAGES LIKUYANI OPINION LEADERS ON DEVELOPMENT AGENDA.

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW, this afternoon held a consultative meeting with opinion leaders from Likuyani Sub-County to discuss the County Government’s development agenda and review the progress of key projects being implemented in the area.

The opinion leaders commended Governor Barasa for the notable development milestones achieved in Likuyani, citing the conferment of municipality status to Matunda, improved road infrastructure, expanded access to quality healthcare services, increased water supply, and other transformative initiatives that continue to improve the livelihoods of residents. They appreciated the County Government’s commitment to equitable development across all parts of Kakamega County.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of promoting voter registration, peaceful coexistence, unity, and social cohesion as the country approaches the electioneering period. Governor Barasa commended the opinion leaders for their continued role in fostering peace and harmony within the community and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with local leaders to accelerate inclusive and sustainable development across the county.

The Governor further assured residents that his administration will continue implementing people-centred development programmes aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

Also present were Chief Officer for Social Services Ms. Christine Kimungui, Patron of the Likuyani Bukusu Council Mr. Maurice Kimwela, and other local leaders.
