GOVERNOR BARASA PLEDGES TO IMPROVE WELFARE OF ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Kakamega County Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa has reiterated his commitment to improve the welfare of County Enforcement Officers. The Governor said this at a meeting with the Officers at Bukhungu Stadium on Friday where he reminded them that they are responsible for implementing and enforcing policies, strategies and guidelines in the County.

The County boss said the officers also play a critical role in revenue collection refering to them as intelligence officers. The County Government through the County Revenue Agency (KCRA) projects to collect Ksh 2 Billion as Own Source Revenue this Financial Year.

In addition, the County uniformed officers also assist the National Police Service in maintenance of law and order.

The County boss however cautioned the Enforcement officers against engaging in corrupt practices.

FCPA Barasa who is also the CoG Finance and Economic Affairs Committee Chairperson decried delayed disbursement of funds from the Exchequer a factor he said contributes to some of the challenges facing County Government staff.

During the event, several Enforcement officers were awarded with various ceremonially ranks.
