KAKAMEGA JOINS KENYANS IN A NATIONAL TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN

The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change Dr. Mariam Barasa on Wednesday led Kakamega residents in a tree planting campaign at Iloro Area in Shinyalu Sub-County, an event that was marked Nationally and launched by President William Ruto at Kona Baridi Ngong’ Forest, Nairobi.

In his address to residents during the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the County Headquarters on Wednesday, Kakamega Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa urged residents to leverage on the December short rains to plant trees in homes, work places and learning institutions to realize the county and national forest cover.
