LAKE REGION ECONOMIC BLOC (LREB) SECOND SUMMIT MEETING

GOVERNORS from the 14 LREB member counties are today converging in Busia county for the 2nd Summit meeting.

LREB Vice Chairperson Dr. Joyce Laboso who is also Bomet county governor while briefing the press this morning said the summit will receive the bloc’s agreement reports from member counties for transmission to the respective county assemblies for ratification. Governor Laboso also said the status of the regional bank to be established to finance operations of the LREB will also be discussed. The 1st Summit meeting held in Kakamega county in April 2018 agreed that county assemblies from member counties pass a bill for the formation of the Lake Region Economic Bloc.

LREB Chairman and Kakamega County Governor H.E. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya will officially open the summit session and brief the media later.
