MINISTRY FLAGS OFF FOODSTUFF TO VULNERABLE GROUPS

The Ministry of Social Services, Youths, Women Empowerment, Sports and Culture Tuesday begun a three day food distribution programme to vulnerable groups and Institutions in all the 60 wards across Kakamega County.

Chief Officer CPA John Imbogo who flagged off the items on behalf of his CECM Mr. Kassim Were at Bukhungu Stadium said that the County Government through the Department of Social Services procured maize and beans, under Support for Vulnerable Groups Programme, following the Governor H.E. Hon. Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya’s directive aimed at cushioning the most less fortunate residents off the pangs of Covid-19 virus.

Ag. Director for Social Services Madam Yvonne Atsenga said every beneficiary group or institution will receive a sack of beans and five sacks of maize.

The consignment will be dispatched to respective beneficiaries from specific Sub-County headquarters.
