ONE COW INITIATIVE PHASE ‘II DISTRIBUTION COMMENCES
Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya today begun the second phase distribution of in-calfed dairy cows to farmers in Khwisero, Butere, Shinyalu and Navakholo Sub Counties.
The distribution, as was in the first phase, targets common residents who are selected after Public participation drives and public barazas’ to authenticate their exact wards of origin and economic status of the applicant(s) to ensure only deserving residents of the said wards benefit. This time round the distribution is targeting women farmers, 10 per ward.
Governor Oparanya said the program is in line with the advanced county government’s plans to construct a dairy factory in Malava hence the need to have a constant supply of the raw material once the giant plant is operationalized.
