OPARANYA DRAWS LINE BETWEEN LEADERSHIP AND POLITICS
Kakamega County Governor H.E Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya today challenged residents affilliated to his Political Party – ODM to equally enjoy the fruits of devolution just like other Kenyans do saying he won’t favour groups or individuals on political grounds.
Speaking at Lunza Secondary School in Butere and Eregi Catholic Mission Church in Ikolomani Subcounties when he met ODM Officials to discuss party politics vis-a-vis county development, Governor Oparanya told the gatherings not to wait for special shares from his government saying he is a leader of all residents of Kakamega County with a national appeal.
Governor Oparanya encouraged the youth, persons with special needs and women, to make use of the 30% allocation provided for in the constitution and register companies to compete for favourable county tenders.
The Governor reminded the residents to prepare for the second phase of county government projects and programs to be commissioned in the next financial year 2016/17 which include the 10km roads per ward, Construction of ECDE Centers, the famous One-Cow Initiative Program, Kazi Mashinani, Mikopo Mashinani among others.
Governor Oparanya will be meeting residents of Likuyani this Friday and Saturday, an exercise that will see him cover the whole county in a month.
