Kakamega governor H.E. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has urged thorough investigations into Matungu Sub County killings saying they should be impartially done to avoid punishing innocent people.

The governor called the killings shameful and ungodly adding that the blood of the innocent will haunt the perpetrators of the brutal killings that have recently rocked Matungu, Butere, Khwisero and Ikolomani sub counties.

Speaking on the sugar sector woes in Kakamega, the governor reiterated that from now henceforth the County government of Kakamega will take over the management of Mumias sugar factory to safeguard the economic interests of the people of Kakamega.

Leaders from all walks life and senior officials from the county government of Kakamega including the deputy governor, H.E. Philip Museve Kutima, several CECMs, the County Secretary and Chief Officers were also present.
