PRESIDENT RUTO TOURS UPCOMING KAKAMEGA REFERRAL HOSPITAL

Kenyan President H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto today, Thursday, toured the upcoming 750 bed capacity Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.

President Ruto who is on a two day development tour of Kakamega County expressed willingness to collaborate with the County Government of Kakamega to ensure the 750 bed capacity health facility is completed and operationalized.

Upon completion, it will enhance health care not only in Kakamega County but the entire Western Kenya region. The facility will provide specialized medical care to complex ailments such as cancer and diabetes and offer training for Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) medicine students and other medical institutions within the region.

The President also commissioned Kakamega Airstrip which has been undergoing renovations saying the Government will expand the facility to accommodate commercial flights.

Kakamega County Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa who received the President in Kakamega thanked the Head of State for the visit and lauded the collaboration between the two levels of Government which he said is beneficial to residents and other stakeholders.
