PRESIDENT UHURU HOSTS WESTERN GOVERNORS
President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday held a meeting with Governors from the five Counties of Western Kenya; Kakamega, Trans Nzoia, Busia, Vihiga and Bungoma at State House Mombasa to deliberate on the upcoming Presidential tour of the region.
In his submission to the President, Kakamega Governor H.E. Hon. Dr. FCPA Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya highlighted three major projects that require quick support and injection of funds by the National Government so as to boost the socioeconomic development of the County; the three are Revival of the sugar sector and Mumias Sugar Company, Launching of the Kakamega Gold Refinery plant in Ikolomani and Completion and Operationalization of the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Level VI facility.
The President is expected to tour the Western region to commision and inspect several Government projects.
Also present during the meeting were Devolution and ASAL Cabinet Secretary Hon. Eugene Wamalwa and his Petroleum and Mining counterpart Hon. John Munyes.
