Given the current flooding across the country, the Governor urged Kakamega residents living in flood-prone areas and near riverbanks to temporarily relocate to higher grounds for safety and also report incidences of emergency to the local administration for necessary interventions.

The Governor reassured the residents that both the County and the National Governments, together with other stakeholders, have implemented comprehensive disaster preparedness measures to effectively respond to emergencies across Kakamega.

The Governor was accompanied by MCAs led by the Majority Leader Hon. Philip Maina and area representative Hon. Gildon Shioso, County Officials and Administrators.
