GOVERNOR BARASA HONOURS THE LEGACY OF RENOWNED BULLFIGHTER JAPHETH KIMATHI BULINDA.

H.E. Governor Dr. Fernandes Barasa, FCPA, OGW, today joined the family, friends and mourners at the burial of the late Mr. Japheth Kimathi Bulinda in Matioli, Murhanda Ward, Shinyalu Sub-County.
The Governor paid tribute to the late Mr. Bulinda, describing him as a respected entrepreneur, accomplished bull breeder and passionate bullfighter who played a distinguished role in preserving and promoting Kakamega County’s rich bullfighting heritage. He called on residents to emulate the values of hard work, unity and community service that defined Kimathi’s life, while extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends and the entire bullfighting fraternity.
Addressing mourners, Governor Barasa highlighted the progress of his administration’s development agenda in Shinyalu Sub-County. He noted that construction of Shamakhubu Level IV Hospital is progressing well and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
While emphasizing his commitment to improving the lives of the residents of kahanega county, the Governor further outlined ongoing investments in road infrastructure, construction of modern ECDE centres, including Irenji and Vikoshe, additional ECDE centres at various stages of development, and water projects among them the Mukulusu Water Project aimed at expanding access to clean and safe water for residents.
Accompanying the Governor were Members of the County Assembly led by Murhanda Ward MCA Hon. Elphas Shilosio, Members of the County Executive led by CECM for Education Dr. Benard Amwayi, and other leaders.
