AHADI COMMENDED FOR ITS SUPPORT FOR DEVOLUTION

The Agile Harmonized Assistance for Devolved Institutions (AHADI) has been praised for its relentless assistance to the devolved system of governance in Kenya through its County Capacity Assessment (CCA) Programme.

According to Mr. Jacob Mumia from the county department of planning, the programme has substantially assisted in tracking the progress made by the county on implementation of its programmes and service delivery to the public.

“We are cognizant and very appreciative of AHADI’s input towards improvement of the County planning, the Annual Development Plan (ADP) and the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) as well as developing the Public Participation policy among other key programmes,” he said today during the 4th CCA programme meeting at county headquarters between the County government and AHADI officials.

He added that through the programme, counties are easily equipped with knowledge on other areas in need of improvement.

The programme which was founded in 2016 is now in its fourth and final phase (CCA 4) and is operational in 22 other counties including Nairobi, Mandera, Meru, Vihiga and Kakamega among others.

County Capacity Assessment programme focuses on Public Participation, Human Resource Management and Administrative Procedures as well as Monitoring & Evaluation. It also centres on Financial Expenditure & Public Procurement systems, County Planning & Budgeting and Inter County Relations.

Other units that were represented were Treasury (Mr. Samson Obwanga), Public Participation, (George Khamati), Budget (Samson Otieno), County Public Service Board (Dennis Akala) and the Procurement unit represented by Mr. Joseph Bushuru. AHADI was represented by Dr. George Michuki a senior researcher and Madam Mercy Ruto, a consultant.
