KACUWASCO CEO HOSTS COUNTY ASSEMBLY TEAM

Members of the Water and Environment Committee at the County Assembly of Kakamega led by the Committee Chairman Hon. Swaka Limera Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kakamega County Urban Water and Sanitation Corporation (KACUWASCO), Eng. Abdikadir Mohammed Abdi, at the company offices, Kakamega.

Eng. Abdikadir Mohammed was appointed as the CEO of the county’s water agency by H.E. Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya effective May 2020 and is expected to steer the company to greater heights in service delivery.

The committee chair Hon. Swaka expressed confidence that the incoming CEO will deliver on the company’s mandate owing to his vast work experience and expertise.
β€œAs representatives of the people we are in full support of the corporation’s new leadership and look forward to wananchi receiving much better needed services,’’ he said.

Eng. Abdikadir, a member of the Engineers Board of Kenya and the American Society of Civil Engineers, holds Masters’ degrees in Administration & Engineering, has a wide experience in the water sector and has also worked with the World Bank Group as a consultant.

The CEO on his part thanked the assembly members for their steadfast support to the company. He said he will work round the clock with all stakeholders to ensure KACUWASCO’s Corporate & Governance image remains positive, enhance revenue collection and seal any existing revenue leaks. β€œMy team will be keen on improving service delivery to the residents of Kakamega County in addition to the operational efficiency of the company,’’ he added and thanked Governor Oparanya for granting him the opportunity to serve the people of Kakamega.

CPA Edwin Lumbasi Bukwe was also appointed as the Commercial and
Finance Manager.

Members of staff at the company warmly welcomed the two executives and pledged to support them.
