GOVERNOR BARASA WRAPS UP BURSARY DISBURSEMENT EXERCISE
In conformity with his promise to distribute County resources equitably across all the 60 Wards, Kakamega Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa on Monday concluded his Countywide initiative of disbursement of Ward Based Bursary funds to needy learners in Lurambi, Malava, Lugari and Likuyani Sub-Counties.
The four Sub-Counties received their share of the County bursary kitty for this Financial Year 2022/23 from the Government bringing to KES 120 Million the total amount already disbursed to the Wards in aid of needy and vulnerable learners.
According to the County boss who has also prioritised enhancement of Devolved Education in Kakamega, the kitty will be doubled to KES 240 Million in the next Financial Year where each Ward is expected to receive KES 4 Million to advance the Education agenda, one of his very essential pillars.
Lurambi and Lugari received KES 12 Million each while learners in Malava will benefit from a KES 14 Million allocation. Likuyani Sub-County received KES 10 Million.
