KAKAMEGA DELEGATION VISITS SANERGY KENYA LIMITED

A high level delegation from the Government of Kakamega led by the Ag. CECM for Finance, Economic Planning and ICT CPA Geoffrey Omulayi on Thursday visited the award winning fertilizer production factory Sanergy Kenya Limited with a view of seeking partnership on possible investment opportunities in Kakamega County.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa, CPA Omulayi appreciated the management of the factory for granting the delegation the chance to tour their multi million project site located in Machakos County and promised to step up the engagements leading to future collaborations between Kakamega County and the company.

Sanergy has a variety of bold sanitation solutions for upcoming and already booming urban centres and cities; solutions that addresses all systemic gaps.

The company’s Co-founder Mr Ani Vallabhaneni who was on hand to receive the visiting delegation thanked Kakamega team for touring the plant and expressed confidence that the deliberations will be fruitful. He said the company will soon dispatch officers to Kakamega to assess the sites set aside by the County Government for establishment of plants by investors pending conclusion of talks between his company and the County.

According to Mr. Ani, their approach involves building a repertoire of low cost, high-quality sanitation products and service for residents living in urban areas into high quality agricultural inputs such as animal feeds, briquettes and fertilizer among others.

Chief Officer Economic Planning Mr. Dan Borter stated that Kakamega is capable of providing incentives to attract investors among them land, good road network and water & electricity.

Madam Elizabeth Asichi, Kakamega County Investment and Development Agency (KCIDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said the County Government is capable of facilitating acquisition of the relevant licenses for potential investors willing to set up their operations in the County assuring Sanergy support from all key stakeholders.

Kakamega Dairy Development Corporation (KDDC) CEO Dr. Isaac Lubutsi on his part said the Agency will explore opportunities on how the County can partner with Sanergy on processing of animal waste into value added organic manure and other products that can expand Kakamega County’s revenue streams.
